In all their suffering they find peace in soccer. Let’s help these poor rural kids with soccer kits. They are the future leaders and soccer stars of tomorrow.
IMAGINE! They go to school barefooted. When they are done with their studies they don’t have time to waste. They love soccer with a passion. So to them everywhere is a soccer field. They don’t wait to complain for what they don’t have. They use whatever is available.
They utilize whatever they have. For soccer balls they gather plastics and empty woven sack bags. I am talking of places where sugar plastics are rare. Even those who are fortunate enough to buy sugar do not throw away plastic bags as they will be used for packaging. Its real a pity that there are some people who are still living this type of life, and whom the media has turned a deaf ear. With the sack cloth and plastics they make nice plastic soccer balls.
Official they play on primary school competitions. Unofficially they do play for their village clubs. To spice things up they contribute locusts as a trophy where winner takes all. It pains to see how talented they are. But I love how these kids from different villages are brought together with soccer. I am talking of kids from the age of 9 years. Kids who have never worn soccer boots, or basic school shoes. Thank God, in all their suffering they do find peace in soccer. To someone who is waiting for a good time and for this and that. There is something you can learn from these poor kids. Thanks to changing times they can now enjoy a tv soccer match after + or – 6km from their homes.
These are Zimbabwean kids of 8 -13 years in the poverty stricken rural areas who love soccer with a passion.
These kids do not have other school requirements, soccer balls, soccer uniforms etc. So another team has to remove clothes for them to identify themselves.
Your contribution will make a huge difference as their future will never be the same again as the kids are super talented. By helping them they will grow to help others thereby ending poverty in these areas. For example; I myself got my first school shoes when I was in grade 4 with the help of Plan international. Today I am making a difference in other people’s lives because of what Plan International did for me some years ago.
